Your route to an undergraduate degree in business

The Bellerbys Global Business, Finance and Management Foundation is an intensive one-year course designed to prepare you for studying a degree in economics, accounting, finance, management, or other business-related subjects.

Our Foundation Programme helps international students like you prepare for undergraduate study. You will improve your subject knowledge, study skills, and English language proficiency within a supportive learning environment. By the end of the programme, you will be ready to progress to undergraduate degree study at a range of global universities, subject to achieving the required grades.

What you will study

You will study a range of subject-specific modules and develop your English language proficiency in the Academic English Skills module. You will choose one of two optional modules, depending on your intended undergraduate degree subject.

This module provides you with thorough training in the language and related academic skills which will enable you to achieve your academic potential at university. You will develop awareness and competency in a range of language-related skills required for successful university study, including academic writing, effective reading strategies, how to participate in seminars and deliver presentations, and listening to and recording information effectively from lectures. You will learn how to communicate accurately in written and spoken English with clarity and confidence.

This module provides a comprehensive understanding of business, management, and organisational behaviour in diverse contexts. You will develop creative and entrepreneurial thinking to tackle business challenges and opportunities, with an emphasis on ethical awareness. You will also gain essential skills in management, decision-making, problem-solving, critical analysis, and effective business communication.

This module aims to enhance your understanding of statistics and its application to complex sustainability challenges in science, engineering, and business. Aligning with the United Nations’ Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) goals, it teaches you to apply statistical expertise to real-world problems while developing your project planning, management, and effective communication skills.

This module offers you a thorough grounding in Micro and Macro-economics, covering the fundamentals of economic principles and government interventions. It enables you to cultivate economic thinking for informed business decision-making and develop both theoretical and practical skills, including policy evaluation and accurate interpretation of economic data.

This module provides you with essential knowledge and techniques in accounting and financial management, preparing you for further study in business-related fields. You will learn to evaluate and interpret accounting information and a company’s financial performance, while also developing the ability to effectively communicate financial positions and performance.

We recommend that students looking to study an undergraduate degree in Economics choose the Economics module. If you are intending to study a different business-related subject, our expert team will help you choose the optional module that best aligns with your academic and career goals.
